As a major global buyer and processor of raw materials, China\u2019s policies influence not only its own EV market, but also global supply chains, sustainability standards, and the responsible sourcing of minerals such as nickel.<\/p>\n<p>In this one-hour session, we will take a deep dive into China\u2019s EV strategy, current regulatory landscape, and its broader implications for global decarbonisation, supply chain governance, and investor responsibility.<\/p>\n<p>We are pleased to be joined by Wenjie Liu, East Asia Senior Strategist at The Sunrise Project, and Erlend Trebbi, Sustainable Finance Advisor at Rainforest Foundation Norway. She will discuss recent regulatory developments, including China\u2019s adoption of ESG reporting aligned with the ISSB, and how environmental, social, and human rights considerations are increasingly being embedded into national policies. The session will also explore the implications of China\u2019s expanding presence in Europe\u2014through companies like BYD and Geely. Drawing from her experience at The Sunrise Project, Wenjie will highlight the connection between downstream developments in China and upstream sourcing in regions like Indonesia, offering practical insights into company performance and opportunities for investor engagement.
